Galaxy s6 edge plus keeps auto connecting to public wifi networks Posted: 27 Dec 2016 12:20 PM PST My wife's galaxy s6 edge plus on verizon keeps connecting to public wifi networks whenever they are available. Even if I hit "forget" on the network, it'll reconnect. I looked at the network history and there a a ton of public wifi networks that it must have connected to. It's annoying because a lot of these networks have no Internet. I can't for the life of me figure out how to turn this crap off. [link] [comments] |
How to see recent activity in Google Play Music? Posted: 27 Dec 2016 01:48 PM PST Trying to play recently played radio stations but I can't find it anywhere in the new app, so I have to search, find the song I want, play it, hit start radio, and then it starts radio. On my older version of GPM on iOS, it shows me my recent stations and I can play it there. help? Edit: I'm a dumbass [link] [comments] |
Android Pay, Gift Card Balance Posted: 27 Dec 2016 12:29 PM PST Just wondering, won a couple of Costa gift cards in the Android Pay promotion so far, first time using a gift card on AP. Paid for a couple of drinks using my gift card and it's not updating to show me the remaining balance left, am I missing something? I know approximately how much I have left because I recall the pricing on what I bought, but it would be nice if it told me outright. I don't think she accidentally charged my card rather than scanning the gift card because I have no history of a payment coming out in AP, which is the case when you pay using it. Cheers. Has anyone had any luck buying used phones from Amazon? Posted: 27 Dec 2016 10:49 AM PST I was planning on buying a Nexus 6P from Swappa some time soon, but I got $250 to Amazon for Xmas. Amazon does have sellers selling used phones in "Very Good" quality, but there are no pictures or anything. What is the refund policy if I get a phone in less-than-mint condition? [link] [comments] |
When I wake my phone, there sometimes is a notification that disappears immediately Posted: 27 Dec 2016 06:22 AM PST I can never tell what it is and it's gone within 3 frames or so. Haven't figured out yet how to consistently reproduce it yet [link] [comments] |
Posted: 27 Dec 2016 11:29 AM PST I recently changed from Apple to Android and now my phone struggles with gifs. If for example I am browsing the reddit app the first few gifs I come across will play without a problem but after about 5 good gifs none will play. If I shut reddit down and re open it and skip straight to the gifs that failed they will play OK but after about 5 gifs the rest fail. I'm using a Sony xperia ☓ with the latest updates. The problem still happened with the previous update as well. Thanks in advance for any help [link] [comments] |
Snapdragon 650 vs Snapdragon 625 Posted: 27 Dec 2016 08:13 AM PST the Redmi Note 3 has a SD650 and the Redmi Note 4 will probably have a SD 625. what is the better processor and will it make a big performance difference? how much more power efficient will the SD 625 be? [link] [comments] |
How do I disable "Ok Google" on this phone? Posted: 27 Dec 2016 12:04 PM PST Posting this question for the 3rd time now as I still haven't gotten an answer... I have a LG v20, and I've done what the instructions I found say to disable the voice detection by going to the Google app, then settings, then voice, then "Ok google" detection, and have all the sliders set to off. Yet the search bar still says "say 'Ok google'" and when I do say Ok google it brings up the window... Why is the setting being ignored? Is there some other setting I need to disable? I did the same procedure on my Galaxy Note 4 (previous phone) and it turned it off like it's supposed to, so I'm very confused why it's not working now on this phone. [link] [comments] |
Brought a phone back from Korea, forgot my unlock pattern. Posted: 27 Dec 2016 03:37 PM PST Yep, just wanted to get all my old pictures from my old LG U+ phone. Can't use my gmail to reset it because it doesn't get service, and I can't log into my wifi...I tried to plug it into my computer to just transfer them over the old fashioned way, but my computer says it's not recognizable. Any help? Oh, I forgot the model of it, but the volume and lock buttons are directly in the center of the back. I know that's not much help...but anything would be great. [link] [comments] |

Are there any music players that are able to sort by Album artist? Posted: 27 Dec 2016 03:23 PM PST I got my first android phone (Galaxy S7 Edge) for Christmas and have been busy setting everything up and since everything regarding the OS is new territory for me, i wanted to ask for help on the issue of sorting music by "album-artist". After my micro SD arrived today, i copied all my music over to it, but now my Artist List in my music player (Black Player) is bloated beyond usability. Before i used an iPhone, which was able to use the "Album Artist"-Tag, which was very useful for those compilation-albums and soundtracks which contain songs by many different artists. In iTunes I had tagged those albums with the albumartist "Various Artists", so for sorting purposes they would be all grouped up as that, but when playing songs it would still display the individual artists. Apparently this doesn't work on my current music player on my android however and now i have a large amount of artists that have one song each, which is highly inconvenient. tl;dr: So, to get back to my question, are there any players that use the "Album Artist"-Tag to sort Artists? Thanks in advance :) [link] [comments] |

Posted: 27 Dec 2016 03:15 PM PST I know a lot of simple program can spy a phone, while a factory reset (in recovery mode) will do nothing to the hack. Does unlock bootloader will help to check that? if not, what app/ what should i do to be sure the phone is really in factory status? the device has been reset by recovery mode on android 5.0 [link] [comments] |
"BROM ERROR: S_NOT_ENOUGH_STORAGE_SPACE (0x3F3)" help? Posted: 27 Dec 2016 03:14 PM PST Ok, it's kind of ironic that a few hours ago I posted something here about installing a custom rom on my Pop C7. The thing is, I tried it and got that box: I read online that is a hard brick and can't be solved, but I also read that there are ways to fix it. Does someone know how to fix it? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 27 Dec 2016 02:56 PM PST I'm trying to control music to a Jawbone speaker for a party but still want to take calls without interrupting the music. I've gotten as far as editing Bluetooth settings for the device to turn off the "call audio" setting while maintaining the "media audio" setting. But what this does is allows me to play music via Google Play Music, which then pauses while I receive a call (privately - only transmits to the phone and not the Jawbone). [link] [comments] |
Phone volume dramatically increases when I open Google, is there a way to fix this? Posted: 27 Dec 2016 02:52 PM PST Note: I posted this yesterday but I'm adding details. What I posted yesterday is quoted and the new details are below. Also, English is second language so sorry for any mistakes, I hope this makes sense since I had to use a translator for some of the writing.
This only happens with Google, specifically when I click on the quick search bar. The volume increases while looking at my search results but goes back to normal once I actually click into a website. I've checked my apps and it turns out Google has 2 apps, one for when you use the quick search that's just called Google App, then of course they have Chrome which is what opens when I actually click a site. I also have Firefox Browser which does not have this problem, nor does the actual Chrome app just the Google App. Does anyone have any idea on how to fix this, or actually use the volume increase since my phone doesn't normally go that high in volume? Posted: 27 Dec 2016 02:51 PM PST So I thought it was just because I was on a sketchy website (pirate bay) that my phone decided to vibrate and beep in a really high pitched tone. I assumed ok whatever, this stupid ad is on a site I probably shouldn't be visiting. However I was just on bacon reader and I'm pretty sure the ad came on there too. It's one single vibration and then a really nasty high pitched beeping almost like an alarm clock or microwave. I quickly closed all my open apps and it stopped (I wish I had done it one by one but I'm trying to be sneaky at work here lol). Is there any way to disable these fucking ads? That shit should be illegal. Could my phone have an actual virus? I don't get any pop ups or unders, I don't have any ads on my lock screen or any of the other telltale signs of shitty apps. Nothing opens or installs on its own. I don't really install many apps, and the ones I do install are pretty well known and reviewed. I do occasionally pirate music via torrent. [link] [comments] |
How to make it so my email notifications come in when the email has arrived Posted: 27 Dec 2016 10:48 AM PST Right now, my email notifications only happen when I turn my phone on. (Wake it up; it's not off off, only screen off.) That's practically useless; I then get told I received 3 emails since the last time I turned my phone's screen on. Text messages still operate correctly and wake up my phone when they are received. I can't find any settings that seem to address what I want. I am rooted, I am using the gmail app for the time being. Anyone know a solution? My guess at this time is using Automate to wake my phone up every 30 minutes? I'm on a Moto G4 in case that matters. With CyanogenMod now dead, what's the best Nougat-based ROM to try? Posted: 27 Dec 2016 02:19 PM PST My Moto X (2014) is about to go out of warranty, and it isn't going to get an official update to Nougat thanks to Google's requirements, so I'm curious about what kind of custom ROMs are out there. CyanogenMod has been my go-to since my T-Mobile G2, but obviously it won't be an option going forward. What other roms are out there that can provide a clean and stable experience? Why is it that only facebook works on note 5 when connected to Wifi? Posted: 27 Dec 2016 10:31 AM PST we got a new d-link router, and somehow all the devices connect to the internet perfectly except the two note5s that my brother and my aunt own. And the really weird part is facebook works on both phones. ONLY facebook!! I appreciate any ideas on what i should do [link] [comments] |
Facebook Messenger And Android Permissions. Posted: 27 Dec 2016 02:07 PM PST Hello. I'm not entirely comfortable keeping Facebook on my phone, and I think the reasons are obvious. However, I'm trying to find a way use it's messenger to talk to a couple people without it completely rummaging through all of my personal information on the phone and eating my battery life. I have a Nexus 5X with the latest version of Android on it, and I'm wondering what all I could do on this device to prevent this from happening. I would figure, that since the last couple of versions of Android have permissions control that I could just deny Messenger of everything. But knowing Facebook, they probably have a way of getting around that. Am I wrong? Or do the permissions keep the app suppressed effectively? Another thing I thought about was finding a wrapper app for the messenger website. I have yet to find one of those. I would use the tinfoil app, but that seems to require having a Facebook profile, which I disabled on purpose. Any information and suggestions are much appreciated. Thanks! [link] [comments] |
How to disable badges (unread count) on a Sansung S6? Posted: 27 Dec 2016 02:02 PM PST I hate those things, the notifications are enough and I don't want to go into every app just to get rid of the little red badges. I searched google and found many articles that say the same thing - find BadgeProvider in the applications list and disable it. The problem is that the "disable" button is disabled for this application. Any ideas? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 27 Dec 2016 01:52 PM PST Coming from ios, all I had to do was either back it up through the cloud or hook it up to itunes to backup all data. When I need to reset an iphone, itunes shows me a list of options of backed up data to choose from. How does it work for android? Looks like I cant manually backup my phone and it does it automatically? Where does it back up to and where exactly can I find that backup file? Im still learning the ropes of switching to android. Should you not remove the phone from dash charging till it reaches a 100%? Posted: 27 Dec 2016 07:45 AM PST So a friend of mine keeps telling me that his phone is not supposed to be removed from dash charging till it reaches a 100% otherwise it damages the battery. I think this is BS because I can't find anything about it on the internet. Though maybe reddit knew something about it. Phone is One plus 3 if it matters. [link] [comments] |
