Steps to update Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos GT-I9082 / GT-I9082L to Android 5.1.1 Lollipop using CWM recovery to flash CM 12.1 Build.

1. Now plug your Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos GT to computer with the help of a USB cable.
2. Transfer the ROM and Gapps file to your phone's internal storage.
3. Now unplug your device from USB cable and then turn off your device, then boot into the CWM Recovery Mode using these buttons; Volume UP + Home + Power.

Your phone should already been rooted and have installed a custom ROM, this post will use CWM recovery, but you can use other custom recoveries too like TWRP or Philz recovery, the process is the same.

Preconditions.

• You should install this unofficial CM12.1 ROM on Samsung Galaxy S2 GT-I9100, do not install it on any other models of the phone!
• Backup your existing data, like SMS, MMS, Contacts, etc before proceeding.
• Enable your Android USB Debugging mode first.
• Your device should already have a bootloader unlocked.
• The ROM developer didn't include Gapps on his ROM, thus we need to install it separately, the download files of Gapps will be found in the instructions below.
• Prepare your Windows computer, a USB cable and have installed a USB driver.

Instructions to update Samsung Galaxy S2 to Android 5.1.1 Lollipop with unofficial CM 12.1 ROM with CWM recovery.

1. Now connect your Samsung Galaxy S2 to computer using your USB cable data.
2. When they are connected, now transfer the CM12.1 and Gaspp files to your device's internal storage.
3. When all the files are transferred you can disconnect your phone from PC, then turn off your phone, now boot it into the recovery mode. To do use just press these buttons; Volume UP + Home + Power. 
4. Firstly perform backup by hitting the Backup and Restore option.
   
5. When the backup process is done. You can now perform a factory reset by selecting this option; Wipe Data / Factory Reset.

Preconditions.

• Make sure you make a necessary backups to your precious data. You can use some apps available on Google Play Store to backup your data.

CM12.1 Nightlies is based on AOSP Android 5.1 Lollipop, it's the latest version of Lollipop that will deliver anything new to your phone. If you are interested with this non-stock software, then you can proceed to learn on how to install it. I will guide you to install the official CM12.1 ROM using CWM and TWRP recovery.

2. Boot into the TWRP recovery mode by pressing Volume Up + Home + Power buttons.
3. Then create a Nandroid Backup using backup option. And set a backup name and continue the backup.
   
   
4. You need to also factory reset by hitting the wipe option from TWRP.
   
   
5. Once you've done with  factory reset, you can now install the ROM by pressing the install option. Then get the ROM zip file.
   
   
6. Repeat the process to install Gapps.
7. Reboot your Note. Done. And enjoy.

Now reboot your phone to normal mode when all the necessary files installed successfully. Remember the first rebooting period could be longer than it used to, it's because your phone will load all the new ROM and with its features. So it takes time.
